Phase I of this project highlighted key challenges businesses face in performance management.4 In Phase II, we aim to develop an IPM framework that addresses the challenges established by the participants in the first phase, with a particular emphasis on how organisations incorporate ESG factors into decision-making.
In addition to the breadth of companies in Phase I, Phase II will target a complement of companies in the food retail and production sectors.
The objective of this framework is to support businesses:
in achieving their strategies through talented and purposeful workforces who engage with their work and align with their business’s objectives;
in creating an engaged workforce where employees are involved in developing and refining strategies and objectives and are empowered to take responsibility for acting on opportunities while managing risks, supported by enabling controls;
in developing a workforce culture where employees accept accountability for the results of their actions and where the values espoused align with strategies and expected behaviours; and
in integrating sustainability factors into the performance management process to reward individuals and corporate performance aligned with corporate purpose and strategy.
Joining Phase II and the interview process will allow you to provide critical inputs and insights to shape the future of performance management. This work will also support your journey to embedding sustainability considerations within decision-making and performance management practices. Furthermore, sharing examples and existing business practices will ensure that the framework produced is versatile, up to date and useful for businesses to develop informed solutions and adapt their existing management and performance practices.
